Starting school

This week our 22 first graders had an exciting start to their school career at the ibsm. At 10 a.m. last Tuesday the head of the school and the first-grade team cordially welcomed the new students. To commemorate the occasion, photos were taken showing the students with their colourful, beautifully crafted “Schultüten” – the large, goody-filled cardboard cornets traditionally given to celebrate a child’s first day at school in Germany. The children then went to their new classroom to experience their first “proper” lesson, while their parents waited outside, enjoying buttered pretzels and something to drink. We are pleased to welcome the new students at our school!
