‘Summer holidays, here I come!’

 |

International project by Grade 2

In June and July, Ms Svenja Nachtigal's Year 2 class enjoyed a very special highlight: together with a primary school in Aspley Guise, England, the pupils created a creative summer project that perfectly captured their anticipation of the holidays.

Working in small teams, the children developed pop-up picture books in rhyme form that brought their summer holiday dreams to life. They exchanged ideas with their English partner children via video calls, told them what they were particularly looking forward to during the holidays and proudly presented their first drafts.

What was particularly exciting was that both classes designed little games for their partner class and followed the progress of the other side with curiosity. The result was colourful, creative summer pop-up books that not only stimulate the imagination but also showcase a piece of international friendship.

You can see some of these lovingly designed little books in the pictures – they are sure to bring a little summer holiday spirit to our website!
