Programming is cool!

LED displays have names, favourite bands or messages like “hello” and hearts. During “Code Week” at the ibsm, Year 3 students had great fun learning the basics of programming and seeing the results on a small mobile display immediately. Margot Schubert from space2code, an organization for children’s programming, supported the children at this workshop.

There were more workshops during the ibsm’s “Code Week”, with Year 2s, for example, learning some programming in their maths class, whilst children from Year 4 enjoyed a coding adventure using the “Scratch” programming language. Lots of children wrote their experiences of the workshops on posters which include quotes like “soooo cool!”, “That was brilliant” or “It was very nice”. (ks)
