For a strong Community
|
At our elementary school, we place great importance not only on imparting knowledge but also on strengthening the social and emotional competencies of our students. With Second Step, we have introduced an internationally recognized program that has already been successfully implemented in numerous schools worldwide.
What is Second Step?
Second Step is an evidence-based program designed to promote social-emotional competencies, developed by the American nonprofit organization Committee for Children. It helps children become aware of and regulate their emotions, develop empathy for others and resolve conflicts constructively and non-violently. Through interactive, age-appropriate units, students from first grade onward learn to take responsibility for their actions and work together to find solutions to challenges.
Scientifically Proven
The effectiveness of Second Step is supported by numerous scientific studies. Research on social-emotional learning shows that the program not only strengthens social interactions but also improves the learning environment and contributes to a positive school climate in the long term. With Second Step, we are laying the foundation for a strong school community.
